It seems that the validator uses XHTML5[*] (which I don't use, see
the DOCTYPE of my page) and the rules have changed for XHTML5. In
short, I'd see that as a bug in the validator.

[*] Info: Using the preset for XHTML5+ARIA, SVG 1.1 plus MathML 2.0
    (experimental) based on the root namespace.
