I cannot reproduce the problem (I'm using 2.18.6 as well). I see a
window with an open book and a few seconds after three columns showing
quotes from the Bible.

Could you try to obtain a backtrace after installing the
libwebkit2gtk-4.0-37-dbgsym package ?

You'll need to add this line to /etc/apt/sources.list:

deb http://debug.mirrors.debian.org/debian-debug/ unstable-debug main
