No, it doesn't help. I get white background. Here's the terminal
output:

   $ WEBKIT_DISABLE_COMPOSITING_MODE=1 evolution
   src/nv_gbm.c:288: GBM-DRV error (nv_gbm_create_device_native):
   nv_common_gbm_create_device failed (ret=-1)
   
   
   (org.gnome.Evolution:376861): camel-WARNING **: 18:23:39.854: Could not

   (org.gnome.Evolution:376861): camel-WARNING **: 18:23:50.251: Could not
   open converter for 'UNKNOWN' to 'UTF-8' charset
   
So far, the only thing that works is downgrading webkit2gtk.
