I would have though we would make it like this:
-0 or anything smaller then -1 for now
-1 first real upload (last commit is just for increasing the version)
then we still use -1 and just before the next upload we would switch to -2
i think that is also the way xen handles it. hmmm, but not exactly,
xen-unstable has still the 3.0.0 version number, but they also increase the
version number just as last action before a release. :)

ok, as I said, if it's just me than ignore it... i can live with it in both
ways and I think it's not important enough to waste more time with this
topic :)
so let's forget it and keep the -1 for now and the first release...
