Yes, this sounds good. I would caution against spending a lot of time
producing kernel packages because we don't necessarily have the
resources to maintain these (and deal with resultant bug reports) but if
it can be done in an automated fashion and with big "use at your own
risk" warnings I don't object.

I noticed that the kernel patch could be cleaned up a bit - it currently
contains some generated code and an extraneous .config. I'll look at
updating the script and patch this weekend if not before. I also think
it'd be a good idea to provide a patch against 2.6.12.6, which ends up
being a lot smaller and easier to review.

Shall I take the initiative on the kernel-patch aspect of this? Any
objections to providing a patch against 2.6.12.6 as well as 2.6.12?
