for now the fern tree might be still better for production system, because 
it's widely tested on i386, i386+pae and amd64...

the fern version (with minor and unimportend changes) is also available since 
some time on packages.debianbase.de as tha5 & tha6. I haven't looked up the 
downloads stats now, but I guess over 500-1000 installations are already 
running with this version. (@jd: fern still rules the world... *g*)

the trunk version is closer to what is really getting released in debian (when 
it's ready), but it's not tested a lot for now, not even by the complete 
pkg-xen group, so I would advice using this version for developers and test 
setups, but not really for a production system at the moment.

but that is just my opinion... can be wrong, because I haven't checked the 
trunk myself for quite some time (but will check it this evening).
