Hi Ian,
because you haven't recieved any answer on your mail, at least my opinion is
clear: that would be great and at least I would approve that very much, but
I guess all other involved people would like that too. simple debian
packages with only a simple patches & rule/control files are always better
then unneccessary complex packages.
I think some aspects of the debian package got quite complex since the old
2.0 releases years ago (including the patches), and I think it would help
to reduce that complexity. Don't get me wrong, the resulting xen packages
are working great, but they are not made for easy maintainace of the
packages source files. Helping from the upstream side could be good to
archive that. I think upstream didn't really focused on that in the past.
Xen has awsome code, but sometimes old relases on their homepage and stuff
like that. So upstream seem to be genious at programming but not so good at
releasing :)
I think most of the patches are from Bastian, so if you have question about
some of the patches, ask him or better the list. I think someone always
knows the answer :)
