[Pkg-xen-devel] New install, console ends up garbled once dom0 is finished booting

Hi all!

I can't for the life of me get xen to run - under both stable and
testing the packages give a garbled local console right after dom0 is
finished booting, just when one would expect a login prompt.
The garbled screen looks a bit like screens full of kernel booting
messages scrolling/paging by at breakneck speed. Lines are tearing and
overlapping ... difficult to describe. Anyway, it doesn't stop, so
there's no legible output, although the machine otherwise runs as
normal (ssh works, etc.).

The box has an Intel C2Q9550s on a Tyan S5211 board, lenny installed
fine. So I installed xen-linux-system-2.6.26-2-xen-amd64 and (expected
to) reboot into dom0, no dice. Neither playing with console= /
xencons= boot parameters nor updating the dom0-in-waiting to testing
changed anything. FWIW the current xenlive CD works.

Since I haven't got a clue about xen I haven't filed a bug yet -
probably just me being stupid and I wouldn't know what package to file
against anyway.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

C.
