[Pkg-xen-devel] xendomains history?

I've pondered the situation with /etc/init.d/xendomains with an eye
towards #452721 and #772809. Problem is there isn't very much history
for the file.

git log debian/master -- debian/xen-utils-common.xendomains.init

Ends at ff1976d7e27331dc29fb4e97b53a79229980cea2. This states the file
originated with 9ba6783e47db71379c5120039b878f605bdf31f3, xen/stable-4.8.

Problem is 9ba6783e47db71379c5120039b878f605bdf31f3 doesn't have such a
file. In fact running:

find * -name \*xendomains\* -print0 | xargs -0 git log`

With xen/master checked out reveals the last commit was
540cecf0cf066ad0386993c8e625006b259c0df8 which predates both of those.
Yet none of the files there have particularly strong resemblances to
what is in Debian.

This leaves me puzzled. What does the full history of
/etc/init.d/xendomains look like? I'm left suspecting it was part of
the Xen project for some time, but individual Linux distributions may
have all diverged from the Xen script.

Problem is without knowledge about why things were done the way they
were, the odds of introducing breakage increases.
