Subject: jwchat sends invalid body xmlns='' with iceweasel 6
Package: jwchat
Version: 1.0+dfsg-1
Severity: normal
*** Please type your report below this line ***
Using iceweasel 6, messages cannot be received by a pidgin user.
Messages appear in pidgin XMPP console, but tyhey are discarded as invalid and
they are not shown to the user. I'm using pigdin 2.10.0.
ejabberd logs show message as:
<message from='nirgal at nirgal.com/jwchat' to='nirgal2 at nirgal.com' type='chat'>
<body xmlns=''>test</body>
</message>
The xmlns attribute of body is invalid.
If someone wants to look at that, don't trust pidgin xmpp console too much: it
only show the message arrives, but the xmlns attribute is striped from the log
rather than being show empty. Use server logs.
Summary of what I tried:
- jwchat + iceweasel 6 to empathy: message received
- jwchat + epiphany to pidgin: message received
- jwchat + iceweasel 6 to pidgin: message DISCARDED
- pidgin to jwchat + iceweasel 6: message received
