Ubuntu Bionic is in a deep freeze now. They will not accept new
versions of packages until it is released. But if you want to try
to persuade them just follow rules from official wiki [2].

Personally I have few successful updates in the past, but my
requests were at less strict stage of freeze. Few examples found
