[ Reason ]
zfs-linux in bookworm is affected by #1040183 which is considered an
important malfunction.
Although the fix for this bug is straightforward, I'd like to discuss
whether it is appropriate to update to 2.1.12 upstream release in
bookworm which is a bug fix and kernel compatibility change release.
Change history can be found here:
https://github.com/openzfs/zfs/compare/zfs-2.1.11...zfs-2.1.12
Some of the most important changes are already included in 2.1.11-1
upload before upstream releases 2.1.12, e.g.
fa28e26e421138096ae12b955634593b155a1062 and
cdbe1d65c4bfa47ffababe8a0f56eb9e77bdcc1a.
[ Impact ]
A few new symbols are added in the user land library, otherwise the
impact is minimal.
[ Tests ]
This version is in unstable since June 15th and testing since June
22nd, no new issues pop up.
[ Risks ]
Risks are minimal, although the kernel compatibility changes are not
required for Debian stable. If it is really undesired we can still
cherry-pick targeted fixes.
[ Checklist ]
[*] *all* changes are documented in the d/changelog
[*] I reviewed all changes and I approve them
[*] attach debdiff against the package in (old)stable
[*] the issue is verified as fixed in unstable
[ Changes ]
* New upstream version 2.1.12
* Remove already merged patches.
* Rebase existing patches.
* New symbols for libzfs4linux and libzpool5linux.
