I am aware, but curious as to what the "right" way to address this
might be.

The Debian auto-removal documentation indicates that auto-removal
can be prevented by periodic updates to [this] bug, indicating
that a fix is in progress, but this seems somewhat inelegant.

Given the sensitivity of renaming a script which other functions
and automations might depend on, I don't think it would be prudent
to rename it in Debian in advance of the OpenZFS 2.4.0 release.
In other words, I think Debian *should* wait for the 2.4.0 release,
and postpone the resolution of this bug until that point.

What would the recommended way be to indicate "an upstream fix is
in progress, but it would not be prudent to cherry-pick it into
Debian in advance of the official release"?
