Hi,

  I have recently set up zope/plone on two systems.  One system running
  sid and the other running sarge w/ plone/zope from testing.  In both
  cases I have installed zope-externaleditor and in both cases I do not
  get the "pencil" icon from within plone to open documents in an
  external editor.  I do get the icons and the external editor does work
  from within the ZMI in both cases.

  I have spoken briefly with the upstream author of the external editor
  product but he does not handle the plone integration at all.  It
  appears as though this is more of a plone bug than an external editor
  bug as far as I can tell.

  Also, when using zope/plone from sarge (plone 2.0) the external editor
  plugin does work in both the ZMI and from within plone.
