I'm filing a removal request for zope2.7.

About zope2.8 and zope2.9, for the moment we need to support both (Plone
requires zope2.8, CPS requires zope2.9).

zope3 is a new branch (something like apache and apache2), so it has its
own story.

I hope that etch will include zope2.9 and zope3 only, but I'm not sure
that plone 2.5 (which will requires "zope2.9 | zope2.8") will be ready
in time.
