Hello,

let's lower the bug severity to normal: the package builds fine in my
pbuilder environment as well as on the autobuilders.

This is rather an error in the python installation on your machine. Python
uses external libraries to process XML streams, and it seems that you don't
have the expat library installed. Could you please check if libexpat1 is
installed in your system?
