zodb with python 2.5 support

I'm still very interested in when a python-zodb package with support for
python 2.5 will be available.

The problem for me is that I maintain the sagemath package, which at
present only works with python 2.5. However, it stores some of its
databases in zodb, and thus the version of sagemath in Debian doesn't work
well because it can't access those databases. It'd be helpful to know how
long this problem is likely to persist so that I can prioritize work on
the package.
