I just tried to reproduce this, but it seems to work for me (also on
Sid amd64):

% zsh -f
kiva6% autoload -Uz compinit
kiva6% compinit
kiva6% vi <Tab>
zsh: do you wish to see all 109 possibilities (55 lines)?

_vim_files is a function defined in
/usr/share/zsh/functions/Completion/Unix/_vim

Can you check that this file exists and has the following md5sum:

% md5sum /usr/share/zsh/functions/Completion/Unix/_vim
d90eb09ccc0a48b9337ada7f71d8e803 /usr/share/zsh/functions/Completion/Unix/_vim

There's also a precompiled version of it in Unix.zwc, so please also
check the existence and MD5 hashsum of that file:

% md5sum /usr/share/zsh/functions/Completion/Unix.zwc
4be49e59d09c72925b42dc4605511265 /usr/share/zsh/functions/Completion/Unix.zwc

If that looks fine, can you please check it from a zsh without config
as I did above:

Your zsh config: % zsh -f
Without config: % autoload -Uz compinit
Without config: % compinit
Without config: % vi <Tab>

This looks fine.
