I think I talked to people on IRC and then there is #622933, which sug-
gests I may have been more receptive to the idea initially and reverted
to a more conservative position later on.

Pretty sure, I never was for full-on “enable-compsys-by-default” ever.
Because I am one of those people who have private completions and I
wouldn't make my shell start twice as slow as it does right now.¹ ;)

Unfortunately, #622933 is like nine years old now. I can't recall whom I
had the interactions with. I looked a bit around my mailboxes. My IRC
logs are gone for a few years now, so there's no looking in there any
more anyway. Not a lot of luck finding anything substantial.

I'd be surprised if they'd want to change behaviour now, after all this
time having the behaviour they have now.

Regards, Frank

¹ It wouldn't really, because I have this:
% cat ~/.zshenv
setopt no_global_rcs
