Package: popularity-contest
Version: 1.7
Severity: wishlist
Tags: sid

Currently the results are offered in a raw list or divided by
distributions. This is good for Debian developers and people able to
recognize many packages just by its name. It also useful to people
concern on 100% free software and the like.

>From a basic (average?) user point of view it would be interesting to
have also avalable listings divided by sections. That would allow such
users to understand better wich packages are more popular in a specific
field.

Say I like Gnome and I want to know if I'm missing a popular package I
simply ignore.

Say I want to seduce my small cousins to use Debian and I'd like to know
which games are plaid most.

Say I'd like to start trying some sound software but really wanting to
start by the mainstream options and I just find lots of players.

And so on.

Sorry if you have also agreed something like that already. I'll keep an
eye to the evolution of this interesting package. :)
