Debian GNU/Hurd does not have a /dev/urandom, so the postinst always
generates a MY_HOSTID that equals d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e.
This means that all the millions of millions of hurd-i386 machines
with popcon installed all count as one!

I suggest the following to generate the unique ID:
(dd if=/dev/urandom bs=1k count=1 2>/dev/null; ps xau) | md5sum | \
 sed 's/ -//'''

I also suggest that the postinst replace MY_HOSTID on any hosts that
have d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e set. This is the md5sum of the
empty file, so it should be fairly indicative of an error.

Regards,
