I think you're right, I am also unable to reproduce it on an i386 box
with nVidia chipset based video card and (sigh!) proprietary nvidia 3D
drivers. Hence, the problem seems to be hardware-specific.
You probably won another bug reassignment.
Any objections if I reassign this bug report to package
xserver-xorg-video-intel/2:2.2.1-2 ?
