[Python-apps-team] Bug#590107: rdiff-backup: os.popen2 is deprecated

I just tried the patch provided in the URL in bugreport #587370
manually, it works for me (so far).

It seems to have been already fixed in the Ubuntu-version of the package
(?), any reason not to add a similar patch to the debian package?
