Oops. I had to revert that. The PPA in question, BTW, is from Chritoph
Reiter, one of the upstream maintainers of quodlibet/mutagen and it is
a snapshot of the future versions of the package. But, of course, you
are right about not using the Debian versions.

I will try to reproduce and, if I can't, I will close this bug.
