No. Losing your unsaved work is not "serious data loss".

I can confirm that this is easily reproducible.

However, the canvas is resizable using the drag handles rather than the 
dialog, and I'm not sure how central a piece of functionality the 
resizing is - that would affect my decision as to whether this bug is 
serious or important; for now, I'm erring on the latter.
