[Python-apps-team] Bug#811184: Phatch not loading Debian Stretch

Dear Maintainer,
  
On Clean install of 'Stretch'

     Problem:  'Phatch' fails to load displaying only the 'Phatch'
     icon in centre of screen.

     


     Repeatable: Yes, same problem on laptop running 'Stretch'

     

     Tried from Command line,  same, output below.

     Posted on Debian > 'General Questions' Forum advised by
     Stevepusser "try editing line 737 in that file, replacing fromstring
     with frombytes"

     

     This failed replacing text red above with:

     

     File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/PIL/Image.py", line 626, in
     __getattr__

         raise AttributeError(name)

     AttributeError: fromstring

     

     Advised to post Bug report.  Apologies if this report is not in the
     correct format but this is my first.
