[Python-apps-team] Bug#883287: alot: cannot read notmuch (default?) config after installation

Hi,
when I call "alot" without any arguments, I get the following output:

Could not read /home/uggy/.notmuch-config and/or /usr/share/alot/alot/settings/../defaults/notmuch.rc.spec

Output of: "alot -n /usr/share/alot/alot/settings/../defaults/notmuch.rc.spec":

key "synchronize_flags" in section "maildir" failed validation: the value "boolean(default=False)" is of the wrong type.

content of notmuch.rc.spec:

[maildir]
synchronize_flags = boolean(default=False)

Please note that I have not modified or created any config files.
However, according to the alot manual[1], all configs are optional. So I
expected alot to start without errors.
