i agree that pelican in debian should default to python3.

I'm attaching a patch that completes the conversion.  it works for me,
please feel free to adopt it :)

If you're interested in other packaging contributions, i've done several
more cleanups as well, which are visible on:

    https://salsa.debian.org/dkg/pelican

There didn't seem to be a lot of detailed commit history in the alioth
svn repo, so the backlog for my copy of the git repo was generated by
"gbp import-dscs --debsnap", using the standard git-buildpackage layout.

Feel free to pull from there if you like the changes proposed there, but
it's not the right location for long-term maintenance.  If you decide
you like it, though, i'm happy to move it over to
https://salsa.debian.org/debian/pelican or to a repo within the
python-team applications scope.  (and to update the Vcs-* fields to
point to the right place once the move is done) let me know if you'd
like me to do that, and where you think it should live specifically.
