It seems this module implements some features not provided by the
delicious API, and only these are implemented by 'screen scraping'. I
wonder if it's worth (or even possible) to provide a package limited
to the API-provided methods.

 Is here someone familiar with this module (I've just read the module
header and some docstrings) who can tell us about the relevance of the
non-API methods?
