Short answer:
Yes, it works.
Even though I'm testing it in a different box (amd64) right now, I can
reproduce the bug with the "official binary" package.
Building the pyicu source package (with some warnings [1]), and
installing the resultant package, makes parsedatetime to build again.
My build environment:
ii libc6 2.7-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries
ii libgcc1 1:4.3.1-8 GCC support library
ii libicu38 3.8.1-3 International Components for Unico
ii libstdc++6 4.3.1-8 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3
ii python 2.5.2-2 An interactive high-level object-o
ii python-support 0.8.5 automated rebuilding support for P
