You are right. The name of the package was chosen a long time ago, and Logilab 
is a heavy user of the python-constraint package, and we have a large number 
of reverse dependencies on that package in our repositories (both public and 
for customers). Changing the binary package's name will require a transition 
phase, and updates to a large number of package. 

I'm filing a bug right now, and will take care of the updating of the package 
asap.
