Putting the images into a separate package would be possible of course.
That was my plan anyway once upstream supports Python 3. But Python 3
didn't happen yet, so I haven't bothered.

It might make more sense to follow the Ubuntu approach, though. There is
nothing special about the copy of the images in flask-silk. Would you be
willing to maintain such a package in Debian? I'd be happy to sponsor
the package for you.
