[Python-modules-team] Bug#763716: python-pythonmagick: ships unstripped static archive

Package: python-pythonmagick
Version: 0.9.11-1
Severity: minor

python-pythonmagick's disk usage on amd64 has jumped from under 3 MB
to nearly 90, and https://packages.debian.org/sid/python-pythonmagick
shows similar numbers for other architectures. The culprit appears to
be /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/PythonMagick/_PythonMagick.a, for
which I see no need. If that file really is necessary for some reason
(which I'd be curious to know), please at least strip its debug
information by default. (dh_strip evidently skips it because its
filename doesn't contain "lib".)

Thanks!
