I did not intend to be rude. I misunderstood your message: I thought you were 
suggesting to import the patch you mentioned to fix this issue, but I made 
that patch to fix the SSLv3 issue. 

So the problem can't be python-urllib3 not fixed for the SSLv3 bug since the 
upstream patch came from Debian! :)

Thanks for reporting. Can you tell me pip's version? Are you using the 
packaged pip? If not you have to update pip to version 6 IIRC.
