My only concern is that https://github.com/euske/pdfminer/pull/71 does not 
apply cleanly and is huge...
Thanks for pushing this issue upstream... if the fork born from that PR use 
the same API, a solution for us can be to use a multiple orig tarball source 
and build both Python 2 and 3 packages. But I have to check the fork first... 
It's very unfortunate that upstream doen't want to support Python 3.
