[Python-modules-team] Exposing numpy.i

Hi,
I'm working on porting some packages to Python3 (grib-api, magics++).
They use swig wrappers. They are breaking because they include an
obsolete version of numpy.i, which ships interfaces that have been
removed from Python3.
Now, an up-to-date version is included in numpy, sources, but not
shipped in any package by Debian. Also, a quick look on
packages.debian.org shows several other packages have embedded copies of
numpy.i:
https://packages.debian.org/search?searchon=contents&keywords=numpy.i&mode=path&suite=unstable&arch=any
It would be good to ship one known-good copy of swig interfaces and fix
this issue.
best regards
