Package: python-pip
Version: 1.5.6-5
Severity: important
Dear Maintainer,
Rnning `pip freeze` or `pip list` fail with the same error:
"

"
The pip.log file contains the same stack trace.
Upgrading the package with `easy_install pip` provides a working version of pip. After the upgrade `pip freeze` has "reportbug===6.6.6-bpo8" as part of the listing I'm assuming this is triggering the assertion error.
Thanks,
Dennis
