Package: pyotherside
Severity: important

Dear Maintainers,

I intent to take over and salvage pyotherside according to chapter 5.12 of the developers-reference.

One week ago I wrote you all a mail if you are still interested in maintaining this package. But didn't got a reply.
The last upload is now almost 3 years old.
Over 1 year there is an RC bug open which has been already fixed upstream: #880093
There is still no reply at all from you.
As the bug submitter and I confirmed, you would only need to add libqt5svg5-dev to the build dependencies for the current upstream version 1.5.3.
Due to that RC bug the package has been removed from buster.
The version in experimental is linked against Python 3.5 and so can't be used with some Python 3.6 only modules.

I saw that the git repository was moved to salsa and that Ondřej Nový did some changes there. So I asked him if that package is still maintained but he replied to me that he did these changes by a script and don't intent to maintain it.

This package is needed to compile current upstream versions of the yubioath-desktop and yubikey-manager-qt packages.

I don't have any experience at all with QT and Python packages. If you or anyone else wants to step in then please feel free to do so.

Regards
Felix Zielcke
