Yes, I will request removal when gnukhata-core is usable. Right now it does not configure the database or start the service correctly. So it is not yet in a state to actually replace gnukhata-core-engine (which does all of it correctly).

postinst should run the initialization scripts and the package should install a systemd service file. Ideally it should also provide an autopkgtest to check if the service started correctly (see gitlab-workhorse for an example).

Mangesh, can you update the current status?

We are using #debian-gnukhata on OFTC to collaborate.
