i updatel package locally and i can confirm, that updating to 0.5.0
fixes problem with vdirsyncer, which seems to fail with the same error,
but i didn't run any tests.

The only thing which is needed is to remove the patch, which seems as
not needed (0001-Fix-conditional-dependency-on-futures.patch).
