Transplanting organs from executed prisoners was almost an open secret in
1991, though the Chinese authorities denied the practice.

A former public security officer, witnessed how death-row prisoners were
converted into products for sale in the organ trade. He described it as an
“industrialized” supply chain in which the judicial system, police, and
doctors all participated.

In 2019, an independent people’s tribunal concluded that the regime had for
years been killing prisoners to supply its transplant market. The main
victims, were imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners...
