Dear John,

the Debian R packaging team has packaged your package gWidgetstcltk for
Debian.  We are using some automated mechanism to create versioned
package dependencies.  We are perfectly aware that in R version numbers
could be either separated by '.' or by '-' and both characters are
sorting the same when used in R.  Unfortunately outside R these
characters are different and also sorted differently.  So if we simply
take over your version specification this leads to versioned dependencies
that can not be fulfilled in Debian.  To simplify things we would be
really happy if you could use the following patch

   https://salsa.debian.org/r-pkg-team/r-cran-gwidgetstcltk/-/blob/master/debian/patches/Fix-dep.patch

to make our automated procedure working smoothly without any exceptions
we would need to add manually.
