Thanks for the note!  This was my understanding as well, but I based my
decision to use GPL-2+ in d/copyright based on the CRAN entry [1]:

> License:        GPL-2 | GPL-3 [expanded from: GPL]

Would it be advisable change it to GPL-1+ on the next upload?
