Hi all,
I do not have an exciting solution to offer to solve this bug, but I
note that version 2.1.8.1 seems to build and pass the autpkgtests fine
with R 4.5.0 on my amd64 system.
2.1.8.1 is the last version that passed on arm64 and the like. It is
the last version that was in testing before being (ironically) removed
because of the failure of 2.2.2-1.
How about I upload a version debian/2.2.2-2really2.1.8.1 and hope that
it can close the bug? We can even go for an epoch; as noted by Andreas,
the development of this package has ended and upstream is asking users
to migrate. I would not be surprised if it is removed from CRAN in the
next few years.
Have a nice day,
Charles
