It is indeed a broadcom chip. It's like the Pi2 but with a quad cortex
A53 complex instead of the quad cortex A7 complex and with a
substantially bumped up clockspeed. Ram is still limited to 1GB by
limitations in the videocore bus strutucture.
Right now only a 32-bit kernel is available from raspberry pi. There is
a config.txt option to make the cores start in 64-bit mode (

but it's not clear if Raspberry Pi will put in the effort to do a 64-bit
port of the platform code in the kernel and if not whether someone else
will.
