Laziness a little (!) but I was also worried that the backup would
fill up the disk. Plus the backup wouldn't be very useful as
PostgreSQL was still running underneath. (Although TIL there is now a
mechanism for doing precisely this, but requires running a command...)

Anyway, I got curious and did it anyway:

 -rw-r--r--  1 root root  25G Apr 14 18:25 foo.tgz

Not quite a factor of 10, but good enough.
