testing sbd in the real build environment

Hi Reproducible Folks,

Is there a way to run a test build in your "official" build environment
without uploading to unstable?  I'd like to understand why the sbd
build-time test fails in your environment while it passes on the
buildds, Salsa and my machine.  I prepared a source variant with
additional logging, it works fine on Salsa, but I'd be hesitant to
upload that into the official archive.
