So you're saying it should be "configurers" because we're talking
about scripts that set up eth0 instead of creating files?

People who work with build systems certainly call the utilities that
produce configure files "configurators", but that doesn't mean
anybody calls other things "configurers".  Nobody uses the word
for anything very much; in fact "the.configurers" gets a total of
182 Google hits, most of them apparently referring to people.
Meanwhile, the top hits for "configurator" all come from Sales and
Marketing where it means something quite different.

I've already whined about the ambiguity of talking about "interface
configuration" in the first place - if we stick to "setting up
interfaces" we won't need to keep reminding users to hup eth0 after
editing its configuration. 

So how about:

# Once resolvconf is installed, the interface setup scripts supply name
# server information to it
