[Resolvconf-devel] Is it a good idea to use interfaces for ordering of nameservers when resolv.conf is global across interfaces?

resolvconf uses interface names to decide the order with which it will
write the nameservers to resolv.conf. However, the resolv.conf file has
global effect (i.e. not per-interface). So why use interfaces in order to
produce it? Why connect nameservers to interfaces like this?
