[sane-devel] USB scanner troubles

I don't use usbmgr but I think it's only necessary if you want to load
the USB modules on demand. If you just do "modprobe scanner" and
"modprobe ohci" the scanner should be detected.

Yes. Without devfs you really need the usb device files. They should
have been created by the distribution, however. If SANE works for your
scanner now, Debian isn't using SANE 1.0.5. Maybe it's a CVS snapshot
taken later then the 1.0.5 release.
